actor needed for an NYU short film (East Village)
at in Manhattan
Hello! Im an NYU film student, currently in my sophomore year, and Im looking for an actor to play the main role in my next short film. Itll be 3-4 minutes, black and white, sort of on the experimental side. It will be about a scholar who is plagued by visions of things that he either could have had or lost (like a wife, a child, etc.). We will be shooting the morning of October 27 (a Tuesday) approximately 10-1:30, so if you are available then, I would love to hear from you!
The lead character, Moishe Rosenberg, has decided to dedicate his life to religious study. However, the visions and temptations he experience cause him to feel deeply conflicted. Overall, he is very serious, very hard on himself, and yet is tormented about the state of his inner life. I need an actor who is anywhere between 25-50, body type unimportant, but having a beard is a big plus. Ethnicity probably unimportant - I had a caucasian or middle eastern character in mind, but Id like to hear from anyone who is interested!
If you are interested in playing this character, please send me an email at aah344@nyu.edu (my name is Alexandra) with a resume and headshot, and also if you happen to have any clips of your acting work please send that along in the form of a link. There will be no compensation for this film, but I will be putting it on youtube and you will get a copy at the end of the semester. Thanks!
